Message of the Minister of Education to the Uniformed Groups

In December of this year we are holding a very momentous and historical event, which is the 25th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree on 28 December 2005 to 3 January 2006. It will be held in Had Yao, Sattahip, Province of Chonburi, Thailand - the historical venue of the 20th World Scout Jamboree.

It is historical, because this is the first time that an Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree is opened to all uniformed youth groups in the countries of the Asia-Pacific Region and to Scouts of non-member countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Timor Leste. The estimated number of youth participants is 15,000 which include countries from other regions. The H.R.H. Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will grace the Opening Ceremony and no other than the Prime Minister will be at the Closing Ceremony.

We are encouraging all of you to support this big event by sending as many young people to this gathering and enjoy the challenging outdoor activities, make new friends, camp together, thereby, “Building the Road to Peace”.

I am looking forward for your support and presence at this grand event.
